How Can I Refer My Colleagues To You?

Actually, there's more to this title:
How Can I Refer My Colleagues to You If I Cannot Remember You?
Let’s be honest. Most referrals don’t fall apart because someone had a bad experience. They never come to fruition because the person simply forgot you existed.
It’s not personal. It’s just the reality of a noisy world. People meet dozens of professionals at networking events, conferences, or even through friends. This occurs week after week after week. If you did not make some kind of impression on me during our meeting, then how am I supposed to remember you?
That’s a problem, especially if referrals are a core part of your business growth strategy.
Forgettable First Impressions Don’t Get Followed Up
When someone asks, “Do you know a good [insert your profession here]?”, the first names that come to mind are the ones that made an impression. Not necessarily the best providers. Just the most memorable ones.
And what’s usually memorable? It’s not just the business card or the elevator pitch. It’s the experience someone had when they engaged with you. Was your brand visually striking? Was your introduction video compelling? Was your contact info easy to retrieve and share? Did you give them a reason to want to talk about you?
If the answer is no, the chance of getting a referral is slim, even from someone who liked you.
Now I get it that networking is about relationship marketing. If you have built up a base of people over time who have gotten to know you, then yes, you should get some referrals from them. I'm talking about the referrals you are NOT getting.
Paper Cards Don’t Perform
Let’s face it. Traditional business cards are a poor way to stay top of mind. They sit in a stack, get tossed in a drawer, or worse, the trash. By the time someone wants to refer you, they either can’t find your card or can’t remember who you were in the first place.
That’s where a video business card changes the game.
Visibility Creates Opportunity
At Digital Accelerant, we build video business cards designed not just to be remembered, but to be shared. When someone sees your card, they don’t just get a name and a phone number. They get a professional, animated video that tells your story, captures your personality, and showcases exactly how you help people.
More importantly, it’s delivered in seconds via text. That means when someone wants to refer you, they don’t have to dig through their wallet or search their inbox. They can pull up your digital card, tap a button, and send it immediately.
And because your card includes lead capture and call-to-action features, you don’t just get exposure. You get a real opportunity to follow up and close the deal.
Be the One They Remember
You don’t have to be the loudest or most aggressive person in the room to generate referrals. But you do have to make an impression that lasts. If people forget who you are or what you offer, they can’t help you, even if they want to.
So the next time someone asks you, “How can I refer people to you?”, make sure your answer isn’t “I’ll give them your card.” Every one of our clients gets a keyword to a number that sticks with you. For example, my keyword is "Gabe". When you text the word GABE to (321) 421-5213 (say that 3 times and it will stick in your mind), you get my card. All I have to do is to get my colleaguies to remember my keyword and number and they have an unlimited supply of my video business card that they can distribute at any time.
Make it easy for them. Make it visual. Make it powerful.
Make it memorable.
Capture. Connect. Convert.
If you're ready to stop getting overlooked and start standing out, let’s talk.
